Shambhala: A Mandala of Relationships – Societal Health & Well-Being and Community Relations

Our Society is a Web of Relationships. It is created by the relationship between two people, as the Sakyong tells us.

The Mission of Societal Health & Well-Being is to promote and support the ongoing development of community within the Atlanta Shambhala Center Sangha.  This could include Sangha Care Teams, Children and Families, Social and a Deleg system of neighborhood support.

We are currently seeking a director for this committee.

The Mission of Community Relations is to foster individual and societal liberation, Shambhala Vision, and to cultivate a good human society in the Greater Atlanta community through social engagement and inclusive community building.  We would like to host and engage in conversations about things that matter and to develop partnerships with like-minded groups.

The most recent activities of this committee have included:

  • Several Conversations on Diversity
  • Formation of a Group using Contemplation to look at White Privilege
  • Hosting of a People of Color Sangha
  • Planning for a Large Event this Fall
