Through the practice of meditation, we glimpse unconditional goodness as the ground of our existence. Opening to ourselves with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings. Thus we can discover how to live with a clear mind, a gentle heart and a sense of humor.

This program is recommended for new and experienced meditators, as well as for those looking to enrich their existing spiritual path.

Shastri Shelley Heinz has been practicing meditation since 1978, in Lexington, Kentucky where she met her husband-to-be at the Dharma Study Group at that time, and they now have three grown daughters. She is retired from teaching and administration work in special education. She was involved in Shambhala Center administration, including the role of Director, for many years. She was appointed as Shastri for Lexington in 2010. Shelley has two young grandchildren that she loves spending time with. She enjoys many types of handcrafts (sewing, quilting, soap making, weaving, and am still searching for the perfect homemade lotion recipe), and she has a strong desire to see how families and children can find their “home” in Shambhala—a work in progress.

For those who can offer more, we invite you to pay the Patron Price to help cover the costs for others who are not able to put forward the full price.
