Mamo Chants

January 25th

    Room: Decatur

Please join us for this annual practice in the upstairs shrine room of the Diamond Temple.

Mamo Chants are open to everyone and will be held each evening from January 25th through February 3rd, weekdays at 7:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday at 5:00 pm.

The end of the practice year, also called the dön season, is upon us. This is seen as a time of the ripening of karmic tendencies, and thus traditionally the time to invoke the transforming power of realization in the form of Dharma Protectors’ practice. Mamo Chants are done at this time as a way to purify and transform any accumulated negativity, seen outwardly as discord, desires and accidents and inwardly as emotional fixations and unbalanced inner energy.
