Jewel Garden Scholarship Fund
Purpose: The Jewel Garden Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance for members of the Atlanta sangha to attend core Shambhala path programs that are available only at land centers or other Shambhala centers. Such programs might include (for example) Shambhala Guide Training, Enlightened Society Assembly, Warrior Assembly, and Sacred World Assembly.
Eligibility: Candidates for assistance must be current members of the Shambhala Meditation Center of Atlanta providing some level of financial support and volunteer service to the Center.
Application: Candidates will be required to provide a brief statement of their need/financial circumstances, their plans for raising funds from other sources, and a statement of aspiration for serving the Center subsequent to the supported program.
Criteria for Awards: Awards may be used for tuition/program costs only. Selection of recipients and determination of award amounts shall be based on the following:
- Demonstrated financial need
- Level of current/recent service to Shambhala Meditation Center of Atlanta, such as service as a teacher, guide, coordinator, or in another volunteer capacity
- Potential for continued/enhanced service to Shambhala Meditation Center of Atlanta and its mission of creating enlightened society by virtue of attending a supported program
Awards shall be disbursed directly to the center hosting the supported program.
